Neptune Group shows special concern towards mentally ill people

It is nothing less than a daunting revelation that a minor flaw in the brain nerves could do so much to a human. The body without a properly functioning mind loses its basic metabolism. The entire behavior changes! The senses and organs are not in your control. The motor skills get affected. It is remorseful. Perhaps the biggest blessing is to have a fit body with a sane mind. Unfortunately, there are many who have mental problems. Such people deserve our care. They too deserve to live a happy life. We must not scorn at them and turn oblivious. Helping them is our responsibility. There are various NGOs which work towards helping such mentally challenged people. One such organization is Neptune Foundation.

Neptune Group recently donated walkers at the female ward of Regional Mental Hospital Thane. The walker was presented by a team of workers of Neptune Foundation. Neptune Foundation is a trust set up by Neptune Group. The foundation works towards helping poor and needy people of the society with a special concern towards mentally ill people.

Visually Challenged people are also like you with thoughts and feelings. They don’t need sympathy but an opportunity. They can be one amongst us. Many such people are struggling to get work opportunity to be independent.Neptune Group has thus, initiated a new service “Project Nayan” that aims to bring about a ray of hope in the lives of the visually challenged. Neptune Group Cater Education For Neeedy

A child means happiness, innocence and contentment. However, if this image fades all of a sudden and you confront the grim reality – a child unfed, abandoned, uncared for. What will happen when you see their innocence buried underneath fear, tears, abuses and crude work? Such a spectacle is nothing but tragic!Poverty and Helplessness are two such awful states that compel man to do just anything. Forced by such circumstances, we see child workers at construction sites and shops constantly struggling for survival. They do not know whom to appeal for help and how to step into a better future.

NeptuneFoundation trust by Neptune Group has seen through this deplorable state and has taken appropriate measures to nurture these vulnerable children and shape their future.

Neptune Group  counts the most on the labourers who put in their efforts in constructing the buildings. They art h most important people in the whole process. The irony is they build homes for others but never have one for themselves. Their children too suffer as they have to go from one construction site to another as soon as the work is over and the education suffers. The children of these labourers generally have never seen the formal schools and don’t get good education.

With this in mind Neptune Foundation has built mobile crèches with state-of-the-art facilities at our construction sites. Children are provided with day care, education, health, and nutrition and other medical aids.In our endeavor to explore the budding talents of children, we conduct various events like sports and cultural activities. Additionally, we also celebrate all festive occasions. Study tours are also arranged for the children to expose them to the outside world.

Elders and old people, who were neglected, ignored and even dislodged from their own house by family and children, became helpless and took refuge at old age homes. So for their help Neptune Group work through it's trust Neptune Foundation Thereafter, such destinations became their shelter till death.

CSR Activity By Neptune Group

Neptune Foundation trust by Neptune Group which is being a part of various social activities, is actively involved in the rehabilitation of mentally challenged destitutes also. We pick them from their location when informed to us or when our qualified and trained social workers trace them, after that those mentally challenged people are admitted to Thane Mental Hospital for treatment & once the patients get recovered they are united with their families. We have achieved a great achievement in this work.

One of the important achievements in this reunion by Neptune Group is that the family, neighbors and friends are instilled with faith upon seeing their relative in a much better psychiatric condition, & now they have strong belief that psychiatric problems are treatable. Knowledge is generated & shared, myths about psychiatric problems are broken, & above all hope is kindled. Neptune Foundation by Neptune Group has a core strategy of focusing on grassroots awareness of the treatability of mental disability is the backbone of our functioning.

We have a strong belief that this approach & the propagation of knowledge help reduce the incidence of untreated mental problems and safeguard them from entering hazardous and vulnerable situations in life. The CM appreciated Neptune Developers’ initiative towards the society. Neptune Foundation is dedicated to help mentally ill destitutes and strongly believes in “Service to Mankind is Service to God.” And that by serving humanity, they can serve God.

Neptune Foundation launches a free helpline

Neptune Foundation is a social welfare organization that is moulded by compassion and empathy. The Foundation is a CSR initiative of the Neptune Group. The trust holds the testimony to Neptune Developers’ commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility. They have taken the initiative to bring the mentally ill destiutes  who are in need of help in the rural areas under one roof so that their basic needs can be catered to. Neptune Foundation aims at the upliftment of the deprived and needy irrespective of caste, creed, color or religion.

Neptune Foundation is actively involved in the rehabilitation of the mentally ill Destitutes. They are picked up from a location, admitted to Thane Mental Hospital for treatment after following relevant legal procedures and once the patients recover, they are re united with their families. An ambulance was donated to Neptune Foundation by ONGC as an aid for the pick-up of such patients.

The ambulance was officially inaugurated on 26th Nov’14 at the ONGC, NSE Plaza, BKC, Bandra (e). The ambulance was flagged off by ONGC CSR Incharge- Mr. P. T. Anto in the presence of CSR department of ONGC and the team of Neptune Foundation with Mr. Chetan Bheda, Director of Neptune Group.
